GO MAMMA – Mom and baby exercise classes

Mammas’ Meeting Place has teamed up with O.n.S Health Studio in Sea Point and MissionFit in Durbanville, to bring you Go Mamma, mom and baby exercise classes that help you get your body back with your baba.

They have been created with moms on maternity leave in mind to get you up, out and moving again, and meeting other moms of course.

I first came across these fitness classes that incorporate your baby  when I visited the UK. I have since discovered they’re a big hit in the States as well. I did a couple with Luke when he was 4 months old, and loved them. We even did them in the rain! Us UK ladies are hardcore like that. Yes, these classes are outdoors, but we do have a gym as a back-up just in case.

The team from OnS and MissionFit are biokineticist and exercise specialists. S11224880_875252125844241_6885662313603227_no, they have developed the classes in a way that allows you to do the exercises on your own, or with your pram or baby.

They also knows exactly what exercises are good for you based on your individual circumstances and needs.  They takes everything into account, like if you had a natural delivery or c-section.  They will also help you find your core again – yes mammas, it is still there! It may have been abused recently, but with these classes you will find it again, use it again and feel better for it.

These classes cater for every level and standard of fitness. You go at your own pace, so please don’t worry if you haven’t exercised in a while. You don’t even have to have a pram, the instructors will adapt the exercises to suit you. (On a side note, we will want to know how you survive without a pram though).

mom and baby exercise classesThere is also no issue if your baby cries, needs to be fed, or just doesn’t want you to exercise that day. We’re all moms, and we know how it goes, so no stress necessary.

These classes will help you feel like the person you were before you were pregnant. If you can remember that.

We’re starting the classes on Sea Point promenade in Cape Town and Pinehurst Estate in Durbanville, but do have plans to roll them out across South Africa. Please let us know if you’d like one in your area. The deets are below.  Feel free to get in contact if you have any questions.
